Mission

HOPE schools exist to provide a high-quality, Christian education in a safe, supportive environment. We strive to make teaching and learning exciting and to graduate students who are well prepared to become inspirations to their families, leaders in their communities and successes in the workplace.

Vision

HOPE is dedicated to developing a network of schools that provide a Christian education that is genuinely transformational for our students. We are tireless in our commitment to establishing a distinctive identity as one of America’s finest college-preparatory institutions, developing students who are academic standouts and active community servants.

Q:  What is a voucher school?
A: A voucher school is a private school that enrolls at least some of its students through the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program. The program pays schools up to $6,351 for qualifying low-income students, compared to the $11,700 average paid for public school students. Most parents already have educational options because of their income. They can move to a suburb with good schools or send their children to a private school. Twenty-nine percent of public school teachers with children practice school choice by sending their children to private schools. School choice gives low-income families the same opportunity.

Q: What are the ways that people make gifts to HOPE?
A: There are several ways to make a gift to HOPE. Gifts of cash and gifts of appreciated securities are two of the most common ways to give.

If you give cash, the full amount of the gift qualifies for a charitable deduction in the year of payment. If you give appreciated securities, you will be entitled to a charitable deduction on the fair market value of the securities on the date of the gift, and you will not incur any capital gains tax on the appreciation. Many employers match an employee’s cash or stock gift to schools, an easy way to double the gift to HOPE.

Q: How much should I give to the Annual Fund?
A: Annual Fund gifts to HOPE range in size from $5 to more than $50,000. Leadership gifts start at $2,500, and these donors become members of the HOPE Partners Association and receive special recognition. Our giving clubs are listed below. HOPE welcomes and needs many smaller gifts that together add up to a significant sum. All gifts are crucial and HOPE appreciates gifts of every size.

Levels of Giving
Leadership: $50,000+
Benefactor: $25,000 - $49,999
Patron: $10,000 - $24,999
Sponsor: $5,000 - $9,999
Associate: $2,500- $4,999

Q:  Can I designate my gift to a specific program?
A: Yes, if you have a specific program that holds special interest for you, you can make a donation and be assured that your gift will be used as you have requested. If you do not have a particular area in mind, unrestricted support is HOPE’s greatest need.

Q: How does contributing to HOPE benefit me?
A: In addition to having the satisfaction of knowing you made an impact on a child’s life, you also receive tangible tax benefits from your donation. Charitable gifts are deductible to the full extent of the law, depending on whether you itemize and how you set up your donation.

Q: Is HOPE a 501c3?
A: Yes, HOPE is a nonprofit organization and receives charitable gifts to support its programs and services. These gifts are deductible to you, the donor, as allowed by law.

This is not professional tax or legal advice. Donors must consult their tax and legal advisors regarding their specific situation.
